Insurance & Payment Information
INSURANCE & PAYMENT
We believe that accessing high-quality psychiatric care should be as straightforward as possible. Southwest Ohio Psychiatry participates with many commercial insurance plans, Medicare, and Ohio Medicaid for psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and other covered mental health services. Coverage for treatments such as Spravato®, and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) varies by insurance plan and medical necessity.
Because insurance coverage and prior authorization requirements vary by plan and treatment, we encourage patients to verify their benefits before their appointment. Our team is happy to answer questions, explain your expected coverage, and help you understand the insurance and payment process before treatment begins. If prior authorization is required, our staff will work with your insurance company to obtain approval whenever applicable.

Insurance Verification & Prior Authorizations
BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Our team is committed to making the insurance and payment process as straightforward as possible. Before your first appointment, we encourage you to verify your insurance benefits, including deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, referral requirements, and any out-of-pocket costs that may apply to your plan.
Most psychiatric evaluations and medication management visits do not require prior authorization. However, some advanced treatments—including Spravato® (esketamine) and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)—may require approval from your insurance company before treatment can begin. Requirements vary by insurance plan.
When prior authorization is required, our clinical team works directly with your insurance company to submit the necessary clinical documentation and help guide you through the approval process. Because every insurance plan has different requirements, approval timelines may vary.
Our goal is to help you understand your insurance coverage, expected costs, and treatment options before care begins whenever possible.
